Every year, Children’s Defense Fund-Minnesota publishes a KIDS COUNT Data
Book that includes state data on a variety of indicators that reflect the well -being of
Minnesota’s children and families. The data serves as benchmarks of child well-being
for policymakers and citizens and help to enrich local, state and national discussions
that center on creating better futures for all children. CDF-MN organizes an annual
KIDS COUNT Coffee Tour around the release of the book to provide policymakers and
citizens from around the state with the opportunity to learn about the data and engage
on issues of child well-being.

Join us to learn about the trends in key indicators of
child and family well-being. The book highlights public
policy that has improved or could improve outcomes
for our youngest citizens and the entire state of Minnesota.

In order for all of us to be successful, Minnesota needs to continue to put its values of
ingenuity, caring for each other and supporting work into action by continuing to pass
policies that improve the economic stability, health, education, and home and
community environments for all children and families.

Children’s Defense Fund provides a strong, effective and independent voice for all the
children of America who cannot vote, lobby or speak for themselves. We pay particular
attention to the needs of poor children, children of color and those with disabilities. CDF
educates the nation about the needs of children and encourages preventive investments
before they get sick, drop out of school, get into trouble or suffer family breakdown.

Any issue that has the potential to adversely
impact people in poverty may become the subject
of a Big View Community Engagement meeting.
Community members from all income levels
are welcome to attend and encouraged to engage
in respectful dialogue meeting topics.
It is our position at Circles of Support to uphold
the voice and dignity of the poor.
